GE Stand Mixer G8M Unboxing! Check out the new Planetary Mixer by GE
This is a short unboxing video to introduce you to the new GE stand mixer I found on Amazon! This is a 5.3 quart planetary-style stand mixer just the the Kitchenaid Artisan, it has 7 speeds, and comes with a pouring shield, flat beater, dough hook, and whip. It has a hub on the front that can accept Kitchenaid attachments - a cool little plus! I find this mixer to be extremely similar to the Breville Bakery Boss mixer.
Here it is on Amazon: www.amazon.com/dp/B09CV8WM2R?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details
I am using a Panasonic HC-X2000 with a Senal MC5-MS Stereo Mic - for those who are curious.
Thanks for watching - look forward to possibly more videos in the future as I explore more machines, whether in the kitchen, or beyond!
Note: at the end of the video I say: "This is your kitchenaid stand mixer" .. of course I meant to say "General Electric stand mixer" - but you can probably figure that out.
"You know, I used to edit videos back in the days of transferring MiniDV tapes to the computer with firewire cables" . . . Maybe I should start doing that again? Ha!
I want to thank my friend Amy over at @AmyLearnsToCook for keeping me interested in kitchen goodies, especially stand mixers - Thanks Amy!

Comparison of Kitchenaid's Bowl-Lift Stand Mixers
Переглядів 402 тис.6 років тому
I collect and refurbish Kitchenaid and Sunbeam stand mixers. My love for these machines encouraged me to make this video. This is a comparison of 3 of the most popular models of bowl-lift mixers. Mixers featured in this video: 1988 KSM5 Proline 5 qt 325 Watt in Imperial Gray, 2014 Pro 600 Deluxe KSM26 in Toffee Sparkle, and 2016 Proline 7 qt. 1.3 HP in Silver. My editing needs a lot of work, as...

This is a quick video of the 1950s "tail fin" Kitchenaid mixer. I got this off of ebay and I completely disassembled it, cleaned and relubricated everything, and put it back together. This thing is built like a tank, and I'm sure it will last for years to come.

Not the food court entrance. That was a fancy store called Upton's. They had a "fancy" staircase just inside all that glass. The food court entrance was a non-descript door between Upton's and Montgomery Ward. You went down a long service hallway and came out next to Picadilly Cafeteria. Thanks for your videos. I loved this mall. It smelled so good in there.
Thank you for sharing your knowledge of KA mixers. I just got a KA mini unaware of the different noise levels between models. Knowing that the mini is quieter is a bonus. I'm single, retired, and don't make bread, so I knew the mini would be perfect for me.
This is the legit mixer channel bar none. I’m not even half way through and it’s plain to see.
Лучшего обзора не встречала, спасибо. Очень интересно.
I grew up with Panasonic vhs equipment. I Really like using camcorders.
Excellent break down explication in your videos. Well done bro
I have that same model it’s pretty good and all but when I put a new maxell tape it eats it but then when I put it again it’s fine but it didn’t eat my very first tape
You video Made me extremely intrested in The 5 and 6. I own a 7 Dc motor but my obsession with KitchenAid stand mixers. I Thank you this video was awesome. And can you share your Facebook pls.Thank You!!!
Thank you very much for your video, so helpful! I’m searching for a piece of information that I can’t find on the net: which is the minimum amount of flour it kneads? Does it manage a 500 gr of bread dough (250/300 gr of flour)? Thanks again 🙏🏻
Great video. I just recently acquired a KitchenAid K5SS Ivory Heavy Duty Series 5qt Bowl Lift Stand Mixer. It seems pretty old. If I wanted/needed to tune this thing up and make it fun like new, is there anything I can do? I know the brushes/bushings can be changed pretty easily, but I don't know where to obtain them. Any suggestions to make this machine as like new as possible w/ limited mechanical skill and money, I'd greatly appreciate it. I want my kids/grandkids to be able to use this some day. Thank You!!
thank you Zack for all the information . Is there a larger bowl (6.9 L)that can fit the pro 5 which ccomes with a 4.8 L bowl?
Do you still repair? My K55 started leaking oil. I bought it in 1996 and love it, but don’t want to replace it. If you will repair it, please leave an email or phone number so I can get in touch with you. Thanks, Dave
The K5 has a DC motor in it. AC motors are brushless. The Black screw covers hold the DC Brushes in place.
Wow, thank you so much for this helpful review.
I have the mixer in the middle. Professional 600 "Design" 575 with the glass bowl with lift. I need a replacement bowl. Any clues where I might find one? Thanks
I think i habe watched your video 5 times through the years. So now that we are in 2024 which KA model to you is the strongest and lasting
excellent review thank you
Hi Zachary Just received the kitchen aid KSM70SKXXCA-7 quart lift bowl which category does it fall under? Classical, Artisan , Professional or commercial. Nothing is written on it. Nor the wattage usage.
💯⭐️🇹🇷👍 I have nearly 100 betamax and vhs devices in stock, I have nearly 10,000 betamax and vhs tapes, these are excellent devices and tapes.
I just bought the pro 500. We are struggling to get the bowl off. My wife won’t be able to use it. Do you have any recommendations of adjusting something ?
Great video. Can you get the pro 500 with a bigger bowl? They don’t make anything g like they use to. Is the pro 500 model number KSM150PSER ?
Great video. Is there a pour shield for the Kitchenaid Professional 5 plus?
The Pro 7 has less wattage than the older Pro 6 (575 vs 500) - does this make a big difference
Where does one purchase a glass bowl and attachment?
So will be first one, ksm55 be any good for meat loaf?
Great comparison. I would like the see the 7 qt compared to the 8 qt commercial model. I don't know if you've done that, but I will do a search and see if I can find it. I have the 8 qt commercial model and wondering what the differences are. I burned up my 6 qt Professional in a flat black color in a short time with double batches of cookie dough. It was sad that we couldn't figure out how to fix it because it was hardly used and it was beautiful in that flat black. I think they remove the black knob on the DC models because some of them are rated to be used in a commercial kitchen and requires a standard for cleanliness.
I know it's an old video but thanks for posting it, very very helpful
I have a KSM5 Proline just like the one in your video (same texture grey finish). I bought it as a factory refurb from Kitchen Collection in 1996, and it's been 100% reliable. Mine has the bowl height adjustment screw. I make bread with it every week. Sometimes 2 or 3 times weekly. My only 2 complaints are the brown grease stains along the metal joints. And the mixer walks around on the counter when using the dough hook. I have to hold it in place to keep it from falling off the counter. This is a great video! You are very knowledgeable. Is there a fix for the stains and the counter walking? THANK YOU!!
Right after I posted my comment above, the lightbulb above my head went on and I realized the counter walking might be due to dirty rubber feet on the mixer. Yup...I cleaned off the dust and flour from the feet and no more counter walking! As for those brown grease stains...I found that Berryman B-33 Engine Degreaser removed all of those nasty stains in a matter of seconds without damaging the finish. My KSM5 Proline looks as good or better than the day I first took it out of its box.
Somehow you are the James Hoffmann of mixers. That's a compliment.
Great video! One question though: Anyway to fix the 11-Wire Whip wires? I purchased a refurbished one and one wire is loose and another just came out. Is it even doable?
Hi Zachary, thanks for sharing your knowledge. I'm in for a 5KSM7580X for making bigger batches of pizza and bread dough. I'm interested in your opinion on this model compared to your favorite 1988 KSM5. Would you like to share your thoughts? Another question: if I ever need a smaller bowl can i buy the 4,8 L bowl and matching tools and use it with the 5KSM7580X? Greetings from Germany.
I just picked up a KSM5 mixer at an auction and I'm in the process of cleaning it up. I can't wait to use this one as it's the first I've had of this line versus my other tilt head KitchenAid mixers. Thanks for the informative video!
Do you or anyone here know if the new 7 quart bowl lift model KSM70SN has an AC or the DC motor? There is some confusion about this.
Very helpful info. I have this exact KSM 5 in this grey color that I purchased in 1995. Do you service these, by chance?
Can you use a 6 qt bowl on the K5?
Hello thank you for the video. Very helpful. I am in the market for 2 mixers for my bakery business. do you sale refurbished mixers? Which model hold 7 qt bowls? I am currently working in a Shared kitchen with commercial size mixers. I do not like the larger mixer. the KSM55 is on sale at target and sams what do you think about this model?
Hi. Great video. I have a KSM50 Pro Stand mixer that is roughly 25 years old and still going strong. Was going to upgrade as I’m doing a lot of bread and pizza dough and find my unit sometimes struggles. Any comments on this model: Model: KSM70SNDXER. It has the 7 qt capacity bowl and stainless paddles etc which I like not sure of the noise level or type of motor ac or dc? It’s only listed as 500 watts. Thx
🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷🇹🇷💯💯💯💯👍👍👍👍Az rastlanan nadir bir cihaz
I am so glad I ran across your video, because I am looking into KitchenAid mixer so I can make my own bread! Thank you!
Thank you so much for making this video, Zach. It's so helpful.
Thanks for the great video - very helpful! Here's my question - is it possible to get a bowl that's larger than 5 quarts for the K5 mixer? I've been looking around and am very unsure on that!
A great little video A history of kitchen aid mixers: ua-cam.com/video/_qxm5QSjQCs/v-deo.html
I think you need a vintage Hobart n-50 or a c-10.........built like tanks and to last forever.
What happen to the pic
Thank you for the video!
That second one sounds like a UFO. I have a kitchen aid mixer that my husband bought for me Christmas of 1999. I'm still using it in 2023. I worked in bakeries for 16 years decorating cakes and they all had Hobart stand mixers. They are incredible too. Thank you for your insight regarding these machines.
Im not sure it is a king...Multy pcm models are better for me
Oh dear….you’re out of control! Lol! I say that with a smile since it’s like walking into a candy store! What a collection young man, well done!
I would try a electric hand held steamer with brush attachment on the case and it should pull all the "crud" out of the nooks and crannies
I'd say your 600 is a bad one... Non I've experienced sounds like the one you demistrated.. 😮
I have owned 3 different 600, and repaired many many more (not the most reliable Kitchenaid model) - they all have a course, rough sound to them, not what I can call quiet or smooth. Keep in mind, they are going to sound different through a microphone versus in person, and opinions on smooth and quiet differ. I will always prefer the sound of the old K5SS and the DC-motor models, 7 and 8 quart commercial.
@@ZacharyCrowe I literally ordered one today before I saw your video. If it is cheap would you consider the 600 a good deal? I also wondered. Is it possible to use a motor from a different model on the 600?
